Selecting The Right Hardware For The Job

Selecting the best hardware to compliment your scanning solution is vital to the project's success.  With years of experience we can recommend which scanners offer the best blend of :
  • Paper feeding for your application
  • Reliability in your environment
  • Scanning speed
  • Workload / throughput
  • Image quality
  • Integration with OCR enhancements
  • VRS compatibility
  • Desktop footprint

Our independence allows us to partner with several hardware manufacturers to ensure the best match for you.  As an example, below are shown our two most popular models from Fujitsu and Kodak.  Both these models are well proven with Kofax Capture and VRS.

For advice on scanner choice, please email us details of your requirement and we'll be happy to make some suggestions.

Kodak i1420 Scanner Kodak i14xx series scanners

Kodak have produced a fine medium volume scanner which is ideal for an accounts or despatch department scanning supplier invoices, delivery notes, business correspondence or similar documents to approx volumes of 2000 per day. An optional flat bed allows scanning of damaged, fragile or bound documents. The i1420 and i1440 variants allow scanning and capture of double sided documents such as market research forms, loan applications etc.

With a throughput of 60 pages per minute and a document feeder capable of typically 75 sheets this is a great business workhorse.

This scanner is an excellent choice for those starting anew in medium volume applications or those looking to replace older scanners such as the Fujitsu M3096 or M4097.

Fujitsu fi-5530c Scanner Fujitsu fi-5530c scanner

Fujitsu have managed to create a low cost scanner which still offers functionality associated with higher cost devices.  The fi-5530c performs at up to 35 pages per minute, can sheet feed 75 pages and is happy scanning up to 1000 pages per day. (Max size A3)

It is fully VRS compatible enabling superb image quality and takes up minimal desk space. There is no flatbed option, however this is superfluous for most users.

This scanner is an excellent choice for branch or low volume applications or those looking to replace older scanners such as the Fujitsu M3093 and M3096
